Welcome to Wales at the Venice Biennale of Art 2009. Preparations for next year are now under way, and we are pleased to introduce the new team working on 2009’s exhibition and events leading up to the opening of the Biennale in June.

Mari Beynon Owen is the new Commissioner and Bruce Haines has been appointed as Curator. They have been joined by Rob Lowe as Project Manager; the Advisory Committee also has three new appointments - Christopher Coppock, Maggie Maxwell and Benjamin Ward.

The artist(s) representing Wales in 2009 will be announced shortly. Please return to our website soon for news updates.

The 2009 exhibition will once again be staged at the Ex-Birreria complex on the Island of Giudecca in Venice, home to Wales’ previous presentations, and will be open to the public from 7 June - 22 November 2009.
